The Instrument and Filter Technology team represent a proven capability with over 40 years of experience in providing specialist services to major nuclear facilities, emergency services, universities and other public and private sector organisations.

Approved Dosimetry Services
These services cover all personal dosimetry requirements and are operated under the scrutiny of the Health & Safety Executive (HSE), in full compliance with all current health and safety regulations.
The assessment, calibration, repair and type testing of personal dosimeters is carried out at Berkeley along with the storage and maintenance of personal dose records for the statutory 50 year period. |
Instrument Calibration, Repair and Testing
Calibration, repair and testing of a wide variety of radiological instruments are performed to high quality standards with UKAS accreditation. "Currently over 14000 instruments per year are calibrated at Berkeley".
Four shielded cells, located within the Berkeley complex provide surface beta contamination, gamma, X-Ray, neutron and high-energy gamma calibrations and surface beta source calibrations with sources traceable to national and European standards. |

Filter
Services
The teams of chemical engineers, technicians, chemists, physicists and project managers, based at Berkeley and Dungeness have developed considerable expertise in gaseous filter technology through their close association with major licensed nuclear facilities.
Their skills and proven operational experience can be applied to any aspect of filter assessment, analysis, performance and testing to ensure that sites comply fully with the legal obligations and best practice regarding gaseous discharges to the environment.

Consultancy Services
VT Nuclear Services has expanded the range and depth of its consultancy services to embrace feasibility studies, special investigations, instrument performance reviews, contract measurements, plant audits, top down reviews and training.
Utilising their skills, expertise and wide-ranging operational experience, VT Nuclear Services consultants can work closely with plant managers and personnel to provide customised solutions that meet a wide range of instrument and monitoring requirements.
Consultants with the skills and expertise specific to larger long-term projects can also be assigned strategically for periods of up to 6 months or more to be available on-site whenever required
Contract Service and Maintenance
VT Nuclear Services provides a range of services to support the safe, efficient and cost-effective operation in plants in the nuclear, environmental and industrial sectors.
The capability includes the provision of standard service contracts, instrument upgrades and replacements, spare parts, repairs and preventative maintenance programmes, annual calibrations, installation and commissioning of individual instruments or large complex systems, in house repairs and 24 hour service call-outs.
